Weaving a Scarf using Sock Yarn
Learn how to weave a beautiful soft scarf using sock yarn. Students will be introduced to the unique qualities of this type of yarn and taught to use it. Learn how to thread with a slow color change yarn and then weave with a solid color. This tactic makes stripes in your scarf pattern (see photo) with only one yarn. In addition, students will learn how to finish the fringe and other finishing techniques. Weave on your own loom at home, or rent a loom from the Pioneer Craft House. Students are encouraged to take advantage of open studio time (see below) to practice weaving skills and complete their project.
