Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving - May 18 & Jun. 1 (need to rent a loom)
Instructor: Terri Pianka
Rigid heddle weaving is easy, relatively inexpensive, and a portable method for learning the craft of weaving. No previous weaving experience is needed for this class. Students will learn how to direct warp a loom, weave three towels, and finish the towels. With the guidance of the instructor students will work on the loom during class and continue weaving at home between classes.
Weave on your own rigid heddle loom or rent one for $20 (rental fee due on first day of class). There are four Schacht Cricket looms available for rent.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of open studio time (see times below) to practice weaving skills and complete their project.
